Sleepless in Seatle-cap-city on my mind
I have a lot of issues with our peoples ability to listen and embrace new ish. I'm referring to music, literature and other mediums of expression. Most South African's are just not open to unorthodox material.
If you disagree then I present to you Maliq, an MC from PTA who's well known amongst hip-hop heads but not so much by the lay man on the street.
His sound is not for the faint hearted. Its hard and merciless, perhaps that's why most don't feel him from the intro Poppa's Got A New Gat(if you don't know me by now you'll never know me) to the thought provoking Why(why is Americas' problem everybody's problems?).
My favourite track is Shades of the dark continent, with lines like shades of the dark continent, we shine the brightest , Maliq share's his pain and love for our continent.
I don't want to say a lot about this offering. I'd rather give you the link. You download the tracks for free and eat healthy food for the mind..... http://maliq.bandcamp.com/album/sleepless-in-seattle-my-mind-on-cap-city-2
